  1. MINUTES of the General Committee held on 16th March 2010 were approved.

  2. MATTERS ARISING. A second hand set of goals had been provided to Chester L.C.

  3. TREASURER'S REPORT.

The current balance is £5,046.23 with subscriptions flowing in well and payments in hand for the Biennial Dinner for which no payment has yet been made.

Ron Balls commented that we should be aware that cut backs by the Government and Sport England could lead to a reduction in ELA funding.

It was agreed that the cost of dinners for the five guests at the dinner should be met from general funds.

A buffet lunch had been booked at The Chancellors Hotel for 24th July before the World Series Final. The cost will be £15 a head. The Secretary will circulate details to members.

  4. UNIVERSITIES & SCHOOLS.

Peter Mundy was encouraging universities currently not in the BUCS lacrosse programme to participate.

The ELA is funding a pilot programme in 120 schools using some 1,000 sticks to introduce mixed lacrosse to secondary schools.

Langley School, Norfolk, which already plays ladies lacrosse, was seeking funding for men's equipment. John Maynard is to visit the school with a view to providing support.

More PR is to be pushed with students via the web to encourage development of the game at universities.

  5. NEW MEMBERS.

Dan Wright and Dennis Tobin were elected to membership.

  6. WORLD SERIES.

We are to share a stall at the World Series with the European Federation with a view to raising The Centurion profile and increasing membership. John Maynard is to prepare a pamphlet including an application form. Rob Collinge is to circulate members asking for volunteers, who will be marshalled by Peter Mundy. Peter has the club banner which he will take to the event.

  7. ANY OTHER BUSINESS.
